John Louis Fischer
1923-2017
Dr. John Louis Fischer was born at home on a cattle ranch near Gotebo, Oklahoma, on land his father and grandfather acquired in 1901 when Indian Territory was opened to European settlement. A believer in access to higher education, John attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, where he met and married Jeanne Moore, who would be his wife for 70 years. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison after serving in the European theater in World War II.

Dale Colyer
1931-2017
Dr. Dale Keith Colyer, 85, Professor Emeritus of Resource Economics and Management at West Virginia University passed away December 15, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dale was born in Albion, IL, on December 22, 1931, the son of the late Wallace C. Colyer and the late Louella (Walker) Colyer. He married Norma Lucy de Wind of Ancón, Ecuador October 9, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri..

IMMANA Fellowships
Call for Applications
The Friedman School of Nutrition at Tufts University and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine are pleased to announce the fourth and last round of Post-doctoral Fellowships for emerging leaders in agriculture, nutrition, and health research, funded with UK aid from the UK government through the Department for International Development (DFID) through their program on Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Actions (IMMANA). For 2018-19, IMMANA will award five 12-month Post-doctoral Fellowships to early career researchers who are using and developing or adapting these new methodological approaches with Mentors in ongoing research programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
