We would also like to thank the Selected Presentations Committee, Topic Leaders, and Reviewers. Not only did they perform their duties of analyzing a record-breaking number of abstract submissions and creating coherent sessions, they also worked tirelessly on creating new ways to improve the experience of presenters and attendees.
In addition, thank you to all of the Section Leaders and members who helped organize the many successful Track Sessions. We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store!

Major plans for the 2020 AAEA Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO are already in the works. The meeting will take place July 26-28, at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.
The Kansas City Marriott Downtown is located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, surrounded by other hotels, a plethora of dining options, as well as various sites rich with historic and popular culture. National Geographic named Kansas City as one of the Best Trips in 2019. Take an extra day to explore the attractions like the National WWI Museum and Memorial, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, or the American Jazz Museum. For the kid in all of us visit The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures. Just blocks from the Kansas City Marriott is the Power & Light District. The Light District offers something for everyone with entertainment, dining and retail shops. Don’t forget to check out KC Live! An entire city block with two levels of world-class restaurants, taverns and night spots.

Kansas City’s central location makes it easy and affordable to get to via airplane, train, or automobile. Attendees arriving by airplane may benefit from a 5% discount when booking with American Airlines when traveling to Kansas City. AAEA is currently accepting abstract and session proposals. The Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity to present your research, put together a workshop, and to explore the realm of agriculture and applied economics via other peers and leaders in the field. The 2020 Open Calls webpage contains important criteria and submission information, and once you are ready to submit, please visit the submission website. In order to submit you do need to be a current AAEA member or pay a $25 submission fee. Please also take note of the important due dates listed below.
Nominations for the 2020 Annual Awards are being accepted now through February 7, 2020. AAEA would like to provide an opportunity to recognize those who have done outstanding work or research in their fields. This includes teachers, role models, and even students. Winners will be announced at the 2020 AAEA Annual Meeting, during the AAEA Awards and Fellows Recognition Ceremony.
