Rachael Goodhue

Rachael E. Goodhue is Professor and Chair, Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of California, Davis. Her research interests include agricultural policy, agricultural marketing, and pesticide use and regulation. Goodhue teaches Intermediate Microeconomic Theory for undergraduates; for graduate students, she teaches California Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Agricultural Commodity Markets. Goodhue is a member of Gamma Sigma Delta and Phi Beta Kappa. Awards include the European Association of Agricultural Economics Best Policy Contribution; Western Agricultural Economics Association Best Published Article; Most Downloaded Article, ARE Update, Giannini Foundation of Agricultural Economics; Associated Students of the University of California, Davis Excellence in Education Award; Verona d'Oenometric Award for the Outstanding Conference Paper; and Best Paper by a Younger Scholar Published in Review of Industrial Organization. Goodhue earned a BA in Economics from Swarthmore College and an MS and a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from University of California, Berkeley. Originally from Iowa, she grew up on a family farm that produces corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and beef cattle, and has an American FFA degree.
