AAEA Invites You to Attend the 2018 Annual Meeting
Experts from around the globe to present research and studies
The Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) invites you to attend our 2018 AAEA Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., August 5-7 at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. There are over 900 expert speakers presenting in more than 200 concurrent sessions. Over 1600 agricultural and applied economists from around the world are expected to attend. Media and press are invited to attend any concurrent session, or plenary session with a complimentary media registration.
Presentation topics include: foreign trade policy, gene editing, agricultural immigration policy, food safety, food waste, economics of marijuana and beer, among many others. The Keynote speaker, Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, from the African Development Bank will speak on applying economics to advance change for the better on Sunday, August 5, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm in Salon 2.
AAEA President-Elect, David Zilberman from the University of California, Berkeley will discuss “Agricultural Economics as a Poster Child of Applied Economics: Big Data and Big Issues” in his Presidential Address on Monday, August 6, from 8:30 am – 9:30 am in Salon 2.
John Antle from Oregon State University will give his Fellows Address on “Data, Economics and Computational Agricultural Science” on Tuesday, August 7, from 8:30 am – 9:30 am in Salon 2.
Paul Romer from New York University will close out the meeting with his Galbraith Forum on Tuesday, August 7, from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm in Salon 2.
