GMO Labeling, Food Safety Headline AAEA Annual Meeting

Largest networking event in the industry being held in Boston

Food safety, extreme weather, genetically modified crops; these are all real-world problems and concerns people face in the United States and worldwide every single day. They are topics continually impacting the agriculture industry – the backbone of the U.S. economy.

The Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) exists to support the world’s leading researchers in the field looking for solutions to these real-life issues. Their work will be featured at the AAEA Annual Meeting July 31 – August 2, 2016, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

“The AAEA annual meeting attracts economic researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and students from the United States and many international locations,” AAEA President Jill McCluskey said. “These thought leaders will present their latest research findings, discuss and debate policy, network, and engage in professional development.”

Some topics grabbing headlines that will be included in this year’s meeting include GMO labeling, implications of the “Brexit”, and foodborne illness outbreaks.

For detailed information about the topics and presenters, please visit the AAEA 2016 Annual Meeting website. Media members interested in attending the meeting and conducting interviews should contact Jay Saunders in the AAEA Business Office.
