Worldwide Contracting in Agriculture: Experimental Evidence and Costs

AAEA members present new research virtually at 2021 ASSA Annual Meeting

In an AAEA virtual session taking place during the Allied Social Science Association’s Annual Meeting entitled “Contracting in Agriculture” authors from 3 different papers will speak on relational contracts, effects on diets and nutrition and transportation costs.

The organizer of the session Clark Lundberg from San Diego State University says, “Contracting is an important component of the agricultural production process across the globe.

Contracts provide avenues for risk management in agricultural production and agricultural supply chain optimization and are increasingly utilized in developing countries as a broader development tool. In this session we explore theoretical, experimental, and empirical aspects of contracting in agriculture."
