2015 Joint Annual Meeting Recap

Thank you for joining AAEA and WAEA in San Francisco! We had close to 1,500 attendees at the 2015 Joint Annual Meeting. Thank you to all who contributed to the program – we hope you will consider presenting again next year in Boston.

Thank you to the Selected Presentations Committee, Topic Leaders, and Reviewers for all of your help putting together such a strong program this year. They dedicated many hours of their time fielding abstract submissions and helped create cohesive sessions. We’d also like to thank all of the Section leaders and members who helped put together the Track Sessions. The top five sessions with the highest attendance were all track sessions. Congratulations!

Attendees’ feedback reinforced the benefit of the Lightning Sessions. Lightning Sessions include eight selected paper presentations, allowing each presenter nine minutes to present and discuss their paper. This allows us to accept a great number of abstracts as papers and gives more AAEA members the opportunity to present their research at the Annual Meeting. In 2016 we plan on increasing the total number of Lightning Sessions to 16 which results in two per concurrent session time slot.

We appreciate all of your feedback and will use your comments in developing a strong program in Boston. 

 

Mark Your Calendar for 2016

In 2016 AAEA is headed to the beautiful and historic city Boston. The meeting will be held from July 31 –August 2 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

The Boston Marriott Copley Place is located in downtown Boston in the Back Bay district. Located just steps away from the famous Boylston and Newbury Streets and the Boston Public Library. The hotel is also conveniently connected to two shopping malls – attendees will never lack for things to do while in Boston. Submissions Now Open

AAEA is now accepting submissions for the 2016 Annual Meeting. There are a number of ways to participate and get involved in the 2016 program. The Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to organize a session, put together a pre- or post-conference workshop, and present your research. Please review the 2016 calls for important criteria, submission information, and upcoming deadlines. To submit an abstract or session proposal, please visit the submission website.

 

Annual Award Nominations

Submit an award nomination to recognize a colleague for their work in agricultural economics. Winners will be recognized at the 2016 AAEA Annual Meeting in Boston during the AAEA Awards and Fellows Ceremony.
