House Ag Approps releases FY ‘19 bill
The House Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee today released the fiscal year 2019 appropriations bill for the Agriculture Department and related agencies. The subcommittee has scheduled a markup of the bill for 4 p.m. today. There are several steps before the bill becomes law, including the development of funding levels from the Senate. In the released draft, the USDA Chief Economist would receive $21.2 M; the Economic Research Service, $86.8 M; the National Agricultural Statistics Service, $173.7 M; and the National Institute for Food and Agriculture, Research and Education Activities would receive $915.0 M.
