Housing and Registration: On-site Registration Only
2019 AAEA Annual Meeting

About 1,400 participants are expected to attend the 2019 AAEA Annual Meeting, which will take place on July 21-23 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta. Advanced online registration is now closed. All registrations will take place on-site in Atlanta.

Guest Registration* $60 per guest
*Guest Registration: Attendees are encouraged to bring spouses, friends, and family to the Annual Meeting. All such attendees must register as guests in order to participate in meeting activities, at the cost of $60 per guest. Children under the age of 16 may attend the meeting for free. Guests include any interested party not professionally in the field of agricultural economics or applied economics, or a related discipline. Registered guests will receive a name badge and are invited to attend the Welcome Reception at no additional charge.







Business Meeting
2019 AAEA Annual Meeting

Monday, July 22, 2018, 8:00 am–8:30 am

AAEA’s annual Business Meeting will be held during the annual meeting in Atlanta, on Monday, July 22 in Marquis C&D. This meeting gives members the chance to hear about the state of the association. Updates will be given by the AAEA President, the Finance Committee, and the AAEA Trust Committee. Additionally, Board members and Editors who are completing their terms will be recognized for their service. Lastly, those in attendance will be given an opportunity to voice any questions or concerns that they may have. A copy of the agenda is available online. We hope you’ll join us!

2019 AAEA Annual Meeting

AAEA invites and encourages you to register for the 2019 AAEA Annual Meeting Employment Center, taking place July 21-23 in Atlanta, GA. This is a great opportunity for employers to connect with potential candidates.

Employers who register may post open positions on the AAEA Job Board, view resumes of applicants who are participating in the Employment Center, and they may also utilize a table in the Annual Meeting Employment Center to conduct in-person interviews with applicants.

Applicant registration is FREE. Please note: Applicants must be registered for the Annual Meeting in order to participate in the Employment Center.

CREDO to meet at 2019 AAEA Annual Meeting

The Catholic Research Economists Discussion Organization (CREDO) is an international society of hundreds of economists, including agricultural economists, who are interested in the conversation between the Catholic faith and economic research as it applies to the economy, the Church, and broader society. (See https://credo-economists.org/ for more information.) This year, we are hosting the second meeting of this group at the AAEA Annual Meeting at a lunch on Monday, July 22nd from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm. The meeting and lunch are preceded by 12:10 mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 353 Peachtree Street NE, a short walk from the conference hotel. All are welcome at the lunch meeting and mass. Please RSVP as soon as possible to Craig Gundersen (cggunder@illinois.edu), so we can get an estimate on the number of attendees for the lunch. In addition, please contact Craig with any questions, comments, etc., you may have.

Editorship of the Applied Economics Perspectives and Policy

The AAEA Executive Board invites applications for one editor for Applied Economics Perspectives and Policy (AEPP) to serve from 2020 through 2022. This call for applications is for an editor to manage Submitted Articles which contain original research results addressing realworld problems with sound research approaches and/or have strong policy relevance within the subject matter of the journal. The degree to which candidate’s expertise complements that of the continuing editors, will be considered in the selection process. The AAEA is particularly interested in candidates who will bring ideas and innovations for helping AEPP to further its mission.

AETR is a new online open access publication sponsored by the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association for high end research and scholarship in the areas of teaching, education and extension in the fields of agricultural economics, agribusiness, applied economics and related disciplines.

AAEA/AARES Heading South Award
Call for Applications

The Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES) and the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) through the AAEA Trust will jointly offer this travel award to attend the 2020 AARES Conference in Perth, Western Australia. It is available to members of AARES or AAEA normally resident in North America. Applicants for the award can be a member of either AARES or AAEA but must be a member of AARES to participate in the conference.

Electronic submissions (in PDF form) for this award must be emailed to Kristen McGuire by Thursday, September 12, 2019 (for travel in February 2020).
