B. Wade Brorsen
Dr. Brorsen served as editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and the Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics. A devoted teacher and graduate student advisor, his teaching efforts were recognized with the AAEA’s distinguished teaching award for graduate teaching. He has taught PhD level econometrics for all of his over 30-year career. He also teaches a popular undergraduate course on commodity futures markets. A prolific publisher, his research has produced over 190 refereed journal articles, most co-authored with graduate students. He has been an active participant at AAEA meetings having coauthored over 60 presentations and posters. As an applied econometrician his work is varied with an emphasis on price analysis and futures markets. Example research topics include distribution of futures prices, satellite video auctions, forward contracting costs, and precision nitrogen application. He received his BS and MS in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University and his PhD in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University. He also has a MS in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin and previously was a faculty member at Purdue University.
